Atlantic City Apology
Hey guys. I hope you're all doing well and I know you're probably getting ready
for the start of the season and the Daytona 500. I'm definitely excited about
the upcoming season and hope we get it off to a great start in February.
I wanted to take a second to apologize to all of the Elliott Sadler fans that
came out to Atlantic City this past Saturday. This is my 10th season in Cup and
I've never had to miss a public appearance due to travel complications. Well,
that was the case until Saturday.
I won't go into a long story as to all of the variables that happened which led
to us having to cancel the appearance. I will tell you my plane is in Wichita
under going repairs from an incident that happened over the winter while it was
down for maintenance. And, we had a plan B for Saturday but lost the pilot at
the 11th hour. We had a plane but no one to fly it.
That normally wouldn't be a big deal. But, Saturday it was. My pilots are in
Texas at flight school and none of our other "NASCAR" planes were around. DJ's
was gone. Biffle's was gone and Kasey's was off to Washington State.
What it all boiled down to is I was in Emporia, VA ready to go to Atlantic City
but didn't have a way. The kind folks at the show offered to send a plane to
pick me up but because our runway was wet in Emporia this particular plane
couldn't land.
All I can say is I apologize to the folks at the show, all of the race fans and
all of the Sadler Fan Club members who made arrangements to be in attendance. We
asked that they gather the names of folks in attendance and I'll make sure we
get autograph cards out to you guys soon!
